  2. Craig, I don't know if you know, but someone on youtube posted a preview for the new Star Trek movie and it has UTS as the music for it.

heres another one (harder to hear)

Never thought they'd agree to Star Trek either, lol

  3. The Trek trailer is fake. Made by a fan.

  4. And if there's no Kate Beckinsale in the movie, then there's no need for me to waste my time with it. : P

  5. True Dat Craig! Kate was the one reason to watch those movies! Remix, a word I used to look forward to but not in the last 15 years or so. The art of remixing has gone down the shitter. These days a remix is a rewrite with a fragment of the original crammed in somewhere, maybe...

  6. I'd consider turning for Kate Beckinsale ;)

  7. Craigers! I've been having trouble with my Live Journal account for a month or so; it's not connecting with the Blogger system; I had the same problem with the Mogwai fan site "Bright Light". Anyway, some great news, mon ami! Caprica (the prequel to BSG) has been given the go ahead, according to Variety. The series won't premiere until early 2010, though. A long wait, but I really am happy we get more politically insightful stuff. I just hope Ron Moore stays heavily involved. They are also waiting that long to get back a lot of the BSG writers who've looked for new work. Aw man, I can't wait!

  8. I'm also thrilled Robert didn't give his song for some lame ass work by that commercial studio-loved hack J.J. Abrams. This man is the enemy of everything Ira Steven Behr did in writing ambitious, politically insightful drama on Star Trek Deep Space Nine's 3rd through 7th seasons. If anything he should have been given license on a movie. J.J. is the Coldplay of writers with even less idealism. Can't stand him. It'll just be another piece of meaningless, dramatically unrealistic fluff just like everything J.J.'s ever touched. Oh yeah, and the writers for this were the same guys who did that piece of garbage Transformers and who -- with Abrams -- are behind that unsubtle rip off of The X-Files, "Fringe".

  11. Well, they say there's no bad publicity...
and The Cure certainly needs some right now.

Not in a vital way, I know.

  12. Well I must be out of the loop. I never remember hearing of Underworld I or Underworld II.

If they want to crank out sequels like this...At least go back to making the Police Academy movies.

    "PROCTOR!!!!!!!"

  13. I won't lie with you there. I usually lag about 3 or 4 years behind everybody else.

So don't tell me who won the Presidential Election. I haven't watched those episodes yet and I never read the spoilers. :)

  14. I loved Lohner's remix of Bowie on the U1 soundtrack. I look forward to this.

  15. DA,
    Palmer won the election!!

Too late, spoiled it for you.

  16. The Underworld films are terrible... However that doesn't mean the soundtrack will be.

  17. Agree, I got a few soundtracks that I kinda like from movies I don't ever want to see again.

  18. Joe,

It depends on which Palmer we’re talking about. If it was David Palmer, we’re in good hands. He was a good president. If we’re talking his little brother, we’re in bad shape…He didn’t know what the heck he was doing.

Now confess: How many of you owned the Dirty Dancing soundtrack? I regretfully report that I owned that tape. I had it stashed away to be sure, but I did own it.

  19. I kind of like the Stigmata soundtrack, some songs at least, but don't ask me to suffer the movie once more.

hmm. Dirty Dancing, no, but I wouldn't mind Footloose, I think. lol.

  20. Actually one of my favorite soundtracks ever is from the old TV show Twin Peaks. That's some groovy music. And there's a song on there called The Nightingale and its just one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard

  21. RALF! i can't believe you invoked a police academy quote in here! shall we talk about the blue oyster bar next?

i've got the song "audrey's dance" as my ringtone.
    (twin peaks. not police academy.)

  22. Mulholland Drive Theme is so dreamy and haunting...*Swoon*..

  23. I’m not afraid to admit it. I grew up watching the Police Academy movies. Completely juvenile, lacking all intelligence, stupid humor…I loved it!!

To this day, one of my favorite quotes I like to use on people is something Captain Harris said:

“Why don’t you just kiss my rosy red ass, Mahoney?”

  24. I'm with you with Twin Peaks, DA.
I've got everything TP related at home. I love the soundtrack.

  25. does anyone else have the trading cards?

i love how they put out new boxset every 3 years. and i buy them all. like a sucker.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have the cards! And Laura's Secret Diary, and the Visitor's guide to TP, and the TP coffee mug, and the Agent Cooper audio tape, and some original copies of the old Twin Peaks gazette.

TP geek, and damn proud of it.

  27. Oh, oh, oh! I have The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer, too! In my High School Drama Class (way back in the early 90s, God I'm old) I kept choosing passages from her diary as my monologues.

I have every episode on DVD. Usually about twice a year, I spend an entire weekend watching the whole damn thing.

I love that you guys love Twin Peaks! I haven't been this excited since I punctured Caroline's aorta. ;-)

  28. you guys should really take a trip to snoqualmie where TP was filmed (maybe youve been to the festivals?)
get yourself a nice hot black cup of mud and a piece of delighftul cherry pie at twede's cafe (the cherry pie really is good, too!)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yep, got those, Laura's Diary, Cooper's tape, etc.
    Good times.
I'm a Peaker and proud of it.
    Snoqualmie is a long way from home, though. ;_;

  30. Great to see a Twin Peaks thread here. I've got all the stuff from Craig's list (pun unavoidable), plus i should still have the T-Shirt with the Donut on it, but i had to retire it years ago due to wearing it too much. I'm just about to complete watching Season 1 with a friend who hasn't seen the series. It's like going to Disneyland for the first time.
    chris
(oh yah, i started on this thread because i'm trying to track down the complete track list for the Underworld Soundtrack. Rise of the Lycans. does anyone know what it is?)
    cheers!

PS - can i suggest a new thread with favorite lines from Twin Peaks? Great. I'll go first.

I've bought the new Lime Green Set from Lynch. I owe most of what's on it... but still couldn't pass it up.
I haven't started yet, though, and with 10 discs, it's gonna take a while.

"Why don't you go sit over there with your friend? Cause it's gonna be a while. Have yourself a cup of coffee, it was fresh 2 days ago."

  33. oooh im hoping to get that lime green set for christmas! *fingers crossed*

  34. Wish you luck...
It looks very nice... at least on my shelf.

  35. I bought the soundtrack album as an MP3 album to put on my Zune Mp3 player and I must say I like the new Version of the Cure Song. They did a great job with the song. And as Far as Kate not coming back to the movie this is not about Selena and Michael at all but about how the war between the Lycan and Vampires started.
