Roger O'Donnell's Quieter Trees

A reminder that the debut performance of Roger O'Donnell's 'Quieter Trees', a musical suite inspired by David Hockney's painting, 'Bigger Trees', will take place on July 2nd at Morley College in London at 3PM. Admission is free. I hope everyone who can, will go out and support this very special event for Roger. Please note that Roger will be not be performing at this event, it will be performed by the Centre for Young Musicians.

'Close to Me' #18 on NME Top 100 videos list

NME has put together their list of the 100 Greatest Music Videos, and The Cure's 'Close to Me' comes in at #18. (Thanks Aaron)

The Sorrowful Putto of Prague

Update: Roger has written a song entitled 'Evensong' for the comic's soundtrack.

"The current issue of The Sorrowful Putto of Prague webcomic features a special Cure theme. The Latin title 'Disintegratio' gives a slight clue as to the inspiration for the comic.

A new page will be uploaded every Friday over the coming weeks and there will be a few Cure lyric references for people to spot and a special Cure plot twist, so Cure fans should keep their eyes peeled. Here's a direct link to the first page of the issue, and those wanting to be reminded of updates each week should sign up to the Twitter/RSS link options.

The special issue of the comic came about thanks to a Chain of Flowers appeal last year. From that post writer James Stafford found Cure fan Raluca Moldovan." (Thanks James)

The official site has details of the June 25th Music Icons auction featuring two digital artworks created by 'Underneath the Stars' and signed by Robert.

Anyone want a Curiosa festival?

Consequence of Sound thinks The Cure should do another Curiosa. Not as a tour this time, but as their own festival. Anyone really want that? I'd take that over nothing, but I'd much rather have a proper Cure tour. (Thanks Heron)

'The Cure In Orange' screenings

There was another screening of the 35mm print of 'The Cure In Orange' tonight. It was at 92YTribeca in NYC.
As previously reported, it was also screened twice at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz in Austin, TX on May 30th & June 6th. So you might want to check your local indie theatre listings, just in case it's making the rounds, and plays near you. If you see it listed, or know who's distributing it, please let me know. Thanks!
