And now the main stage has reopened, and everything is back to normal. Cure on Sasquatch stage at 11 pm.

7:40 PM Amy C: "a little bird told me the Cure will go on at 11 at the Bigfoot stage instead of the main stage."

No Cure on the livestream tonight.

Amy C should be giving us the setlist tonight, but if you want to join in, please do! If you're going to the show and wouldn't mind sending in the live setlist or anything else, please let me know. Twitter, email, text, Facebook, whatever works best for you. Thanks!

  4. Okay folks, I'm here at Sasquatch. First thing: The Twilight Sad are really underrated. They are fucking awesome! Second, there is a wind issue here. The Gorge may not broadcast due to the wind. I will do my best to remeber to live tweet later.

  5. We might have a wild fire issue also. I can see the smoke. We're probably fine, right?

  7. What happened? Wind, smoke, fire? That shit doesn't happen in Seattle, you know, for future reference. To go from the best show of the tour to the worst, almost within 24 hours, hard to believe. I certainly feel better knowing I sure as hell didn't miss anything.

    1. A one-hour and forty minute set? That's just over half of a normal full show. Knocking 50 minutes off an already foreshortened is just unreal. 80 minutes short of a full show???? And after hanging around for two or three days in order to see it?? Speechless. Wow.

    2. Sorry about the bit of selfishness at the end of my first post, that doesn't adequately convey what I was thinking.

    3. They were originally scheduled to play until 1:30, then had 30 minutes cut due to all of the weather delays and set rescheduling, and were supposed to go until 1. No idea why they cut those last 17 minutes, unless the winds kicked up again.

    4. They'll never play at The Gorge again, hooray. Probably never play Washington again, not that they dropped by with any frequency anyway. That's why I wanted them to play Seattle, it'll be the last time we'll ever get to see them. Or would have been.

  8. I'm gonna be at Bestival UK. This kinda has me worried stuff like this (short playing time) will happen there.

I'm hoping for Fear of Ghosts, though The Hungry Ghost is alright.

  9. Pretty great setlist considering it's a festival set

  10. They cut it. They didn't play "a forest" - masterpiece for shows. Until 96min very good setlist.

  11. Safety first. The time they played is the norm or longer than the norm...especially at a festival.

    Nice!

  12. It was a festival - if you live in the Seattle area your money is better spent going to the Ridgefield or Vancouver shows. I would never see them at a festival.

  14. The wind delays didn't affect start time, nor set length. The issue was the poor attendance and lackluster response from the crowd. They left the stage with only a "cheers." The crowd really let the band down.

  15. I also found interesting that Robert said towards the beginning I should talk but I am afraid of what I'd say. What was also strange was when they came out for the second set after the first song Robert covered his face with his hands and walked off. The rest of the guys seemed kind of surprised and then followed suit. When they came back out Robert said something like this is a happier song. It was definitely strange and out of character. I just hope everything is ok with them or maybe he was just not happy with the crowd?

    1. Look, we all love RS...but he's never struck me as a stable, regular joe. I mean, I've never seen Dave Gahan, Simon LeBon, etc etc cry after a performance or get sad...

RS is complicated which is why his music is so brilliant, and why so many promised items (trilogy dvd, wish remaster, top/head/km trilogy shows, 4:14 Scream...) never happen

    2. You're right mostly, but if he considers The Cure his job (albeit a mostly fun job...except for days like yesterday) I know I wouldn't want to come home from work and do more work, I wouldn't want to do work on my vacations or in my spare time or on the weekends. I'm glad we get what we get, and I remain hopeful that the items or product you mentioned do materialize in the not too distant future.

    3. He/they haven't written a song that conveys such hopelessness and despair (and that's just the music) in a VERY long time. This is apparently one of the 'darker' tracks written with Porl in '07? He could be thinking of ANYTHING when singing it, and some days it doesn't affect him as much as others. I like it, and it's rare for anyone to open up like that in public, to allow themselves to get so vulnerable especially in front of thousands of people. I don't know how he does it. It may seem a little weird to say "I like it", but I suppose I do.

    4. Lorrie, I was there and saw what you saw! I left feeling really depressed. I first came and sat down before Alabama Shakes came on. The place was packed. After they're set was over, at least 50% of the crowd cleared out. Then I went to the floor and never paid attention to what was going on behind me. A nice man who was next to me said at the end of The Cure sites set that everyone on the lawn and half the floor had left.

  16. Just to be clear I wasn't criticizing. Just wanted to share what I saw. I just never experienced them cutting a set short in all the times I have seen them.

  18. Truly the crowd were watching the band come out for two encores when only 20 or 30 people are clapping and 95 percent of the crowd has fled ?

  19. By those two photos I'm too distracted by how good he's looking right now to tell if he's in a mood or not.
