Hi everyone! Wow, thank you for the comments and orders. I make these myself, it's the same process that Cafepress uses, a heat-transfer design. They are not screenprinted, I couldn't afford to get that many shirts done, there are too many colors in the design. I hope this doesn't offend anyone that ordered already.
This is a design that I drew myself in Adobe Illustrator, and literally, I started working on the first design of Robert in about 2001. I'd be happy to do some toddler-size shirts if you'd like to order some, DA.
my assumption was that they were sent by boat, in honour of RS. cost goes up taking inflation into account to account for the time they take to get there, like a cure lp...its all very symbolic....
wish I could get one but i dont have a credit card!! like a good little luddite...
Well, Rev, I'm interested, but I'd want to get two, and unfortunately, that would cost me $15 in shipping. :( Any possibility of a discount in shipping for multiple t-shirts?
Hi Shawn, Sorry my paypal page isn't very sophisticated. I'll be happy to send two in the same shipment. You can email me at bluheron@gmail.com I know $15 seems like a lot for shipping but I wanted people to get them very quickly. If there are those who want a teeshirt and want to pay for the "slow boat", just let me know and I'll be happy to work with you.
yea i looked at the 2nd website- it would be good for ur future aq. sci classes... that poster on the 2nd one is cheaper than the 1st one, and it comes with a worksheet!!! :) lol
ill let u know when i get the shirts ordered - i guess ill wait to talk to rev about the shipping charge...ive emailed her - just waiting for her reply...
I am unable to order. The cart comes up empty. Am I too late? Or is it just not working from Le France? And can I hold one until I get back in a couple of weeks?
Cat, you're not too late :D There shouldn't be any problem, I've gotten one order from Europe already. If you are having problems, just email me at bluheron@gmail.com
is it possible to do all this when I come back on July 15th? or is that too late? thanks so much - i just adore these shirts, as i told you in ft. laud!
My feet are aching from all the walking, though, but I need the exercise!
Ya'll are still up, btw? The clock on my computer is still set on Eastern Standard Time. Of course, I am up too early for my own good, but I guess I'm still jet-lagged.
I wondered if you were going to add that one! LOL. Now we have PROOF of our mortifying dorkiness!
Well, I am in Paris currently. I have been here quite a few times so I am somewhat used to it. Love it, of course, but I have seen all the big sights before. That sounds so jaded, but I don't mean it that way. Anyway, on Sunday we went to Monmarte, the formerly bohemian area, where Sacre Couer is located. That place was CRAWLING with tourists (ourselves included, of course), so it was a bit icky, truth be told. Yesterday (Monday) I walked around I the vicinity of Notre Dame, the Seine, etc., and onto the islands, Ils St. Louis and Il de la Cite. I just took it easy, really, but one thing I have noted is that the prices here are even MORE outrageous than in the past. I had a bottled water and just a little bit of ice cream at a cafe yesterday and it cost 13 fucking Euros - that's nearly 20 bucks! WTF! Granted, it was in the very touristy district, but still: that's fucking sick! And the room service in this hotel - fucking forget about it!
Today I will hang out with the wife of one my bf's co-workers (they are attending a conference here). Not sure what we will do yet. She has a little girl, so a lot will revolve around her.
Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, I/we will hit the museums, since that is the main draw for me in Paris.
Saturday we go to Amiens, to visit my bf's parents. Amiens is home to the most beautiful gothic cathedral in Europe, and his parents live in its shadow, literally.
not to mention i hate bottled water - such a rip off - but you can't order just plain tap here!
le monde traveller sounds good to me, rev! i'm no french purist. fuck the french, anyway.
KIDDING!
sort of. :-)
but yeah - things here are too costly, and this place is crawling with peeps. i like paris and all, but the summer is the worst time to come. amiens will touristy, too, but a bit better.
hahah yeah its pretty bad. dont you just love the screeching in the background? and it looks like robert stops and just looks in our direction with a wtf? look on his face!!! oh man! hilarious!
i still think it's hilarious that we were screaming at him when you gave him the flowers. grown women shrieking like 13 year olds at a beatles concert! i swear i would jump on stage if i could! good thing they have barriers and burly security dudes. :-)
indeed he was looking at us strangely... like, "who the fuck are these dorky women shrieking like prepubescents? you'd think they'd never seen a black-clad grown man with freaky hair and make-up"
mmmmmm... freaky hair and make up...
i really don't give a fuck, though! fun times and i'd do it all again in a heartbeat. secretly robert loves the girly attention, anyway. :-)
"yo homez you ain't no pop-star wit' me so you best get yo gangsta ass on out that bed, b! and while you at it you best comb that freak-ass nappy hair"
(shades of don imus, sorry! i've already been accused of racism over at the official, so i'd best stop there)
and hubby is sawing logs over here...he hasnt slept this hard in a while...i been wearing him out lately though...
NOT LIKE THAT PPL! he hurt his knee and we have been running around for days doing stuff - today we met sara and two of my other students and went to the moody gardens aquarium - and we were SUPPOSED to go bungee jumping but the weather was fucked up - lightning. come ON - lightning? pfft. please.
do you think when bobby and mary are reunited after each tour he says, "hello again" to her? and then she says STFU b!" and then he says "Q" ? and she says "GTFO!"
i have to go meet my friend. we's goin' to some gardens, yo!
christ - I've just been watching some footage on You Tube of The Cure at the Bizarre Festival in '98 - they reek - RS appears drunk and the performance is lumpy with bad notes ahoy
sorry - nothing to do with this thread, but I've never seen them really bad live before - no wonder RS came very near carrying out his threat around this time
Hi CoF peeps! I've sent off the first round of shirts, so people who contacted me yesterday will have theirs soon! Requests from today will go out tomorrow.
I updated my blog post with new shipping options, and a link to the design so you can see it better. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me at bluheron@gmail.com

Awesome! Great work :D Will definitely order one.
ReplyDeleteNice work, but out of curiosity, why is the shipping so much?
ReplyDeleteShawn, since I didn't know where these would be going, the shipping I set as a flat fee, so I could use the fastest shipping available for each order.
ReplyDeletemy assumption was that they were sent by boat, in honour of RS. cost goes up taking inflation into account to account for the time they take to get there, like a cure lp...its all very symbolic....

ReplyDeleteHere's a link to the bigger version of the teeshirt graphic, for those who want to see the level of detail in this design.
ReplyDeleteI am unable to order. The cart comes up empty. Am I too late? Or is it just not working from Le France? And can I hold one until I get back in a couple of weeks?

what have you seen in france so far?
Chris, that is so funny! LOVE you guys! Turning the camera on yourselves is too classic!
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you were going to add that one! LOL. Now we have PROOF of our mortifying dorkiness!

rev, chris is hilarious that way. i just loved attending the austin and nyc shows with her!
ReplyDeletechrist! and i was bitching about the prices in NYC!
ReplyDeletechris, some jerkwad was leaving rude comments for both my cure and tom waits vids, so i deleted the comments and blocked the user. mwuhahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely trip, le monde traveler! I'm sure I screwed that up, but oh well!
ReplyDeletemeh. i figured id leave the comments there and let them expose themselves for the asshats they really are.
ReplyDeletei thought a kid wrote the comments (just sounded very immature) but i looked at the profile and the person is 35 years old! how sad is that!
not to mention i hate bottled water - such a rip off - but you can't order just plain tap here!
ReplyDeletele monde traveller sounds good to me, rev! i'm no french purist. fuck the french, anyway.

ReplyDeleteChris, I just rewatched that vid - fucking hilarious!
ReplyDeletehahah yeah its pretty bad. dont you just love the screeching in the background? and it looks like robert stops and just looks in our direction with a wtf? look on his face!!! oh man! hilarious!
ReplyDeleteand did you see my flowers? :D
yes, i did notice that robert seems to look our way... but i thought that was just deluded wishful thinking on my part.
ReplyDeleteand the fleurs ROCK! that is so awesome he said that and put them there for all to behold. robert loves him some christinap!
i still think it's hilarious that we were screaming at him when you gave him the flowers. grown women shrieking like 13 year olds at a beatles concert! i swear i would jump on stage if i could! good thing they have barriers and burly security dudes. :-)
ReplyDeleterev- why is shipping so much? cant you just toss it in a bubble envelope for a couple bucks?
ReplyDeletehahah cat!
ReplyDeletei didnt even realize what i was doing when i gave him the flowers. i do remember him looking as kinda strangely.
my wishful thinking: that rs was thinking: "havent i seen you before?"
:D
indeed he was looking at us strangely... like, "who the fuck are these dorky women shrieking like prepubescents? you'd think they'd never seen a black-clad grown man with freaky hair and make-up"
ReplyDeletemmmmmm... freaky hair and make up...
i really don't give a fuck, though! fun times and i'd do it all again in a heartbeat. secretly robert loves the girly attention, anyway. :-)

ReplyDeletei'd like to blow him too. :-)
a KISS, that is.

"yo homez you ain't no pop-star wit' me so you best get yo gangsta ass on out that bed, b! and while you at it you best comb that freak-ass nappy hair"
(shades of don imus, sorry! i've already been accused of racism over at the official, so i'd best stop there)

ReplyDeletechrist - I've just been watching some footage on You Tube of The Cure at the Bizarre Festival in '98 - they reek - RS appears drunk and the performance is lumpy with bad notes ahoy
ReplyDeletesorry - nothing to do with this thread, but I've never seen them really bad live before - no wonder RS came very near carrying out his threat around this time
Heh Ginge... I have never seen that, sounds excruciating.
ReplyDeleteThe t-shirts are great looking, but I can't get behind that level of copyright infringement, especially of people whose work I respect. :^.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I look at that design I crack up--esp. the one of Simon. I think it's the combination of the grumpy face and the chest hair.
ReplyDeleteYou know who's gonna laugh the hardest at this? Their spouses.
you know what else KICKS ASS?
ReplyDeletea cheap white t-shirt with an iron-on design that will wrinkle and crack upon several washings.
