R & R HoF Induction tickets
Update (Jan. 31st, 2019): Just a reminder that general sales start tomorrow morning (Feb. 1st) at 10 am eastern. There were lots of good, reasonably priced tickets available during the Citi presale, and hopefully some will be left for everyone trying for them tomorrow.
A couple of things to note, The Cure have not confirmed they will attend and play. Its assumed they will, as they haven't said they wont. The only band who have declined so far is Radiohead. All others are expected to play, even Roxy Music who are talking about getting back together just for this.
However, Lol Tolhurst is the only Cure to state publicly that he's going to be there. I hoped the band would make an announcement about this, one way or another, before ticket sales, but that looks unlikely. So if you buy tickets, just know that there's a possibility that The Cure wont be there. I bought mine and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. :)
Also, even if they do play, don't expect a full set. Each band typically gets 3-5 songs.
That's it. Good luck and see you, and hopefully The Cure, in Brooklyn!

New album out in 4th quarter of 2019?
@CraigatCoF Interesting stuff : a friend working for universal has seen The Cure has just been added to their Q4 record release forecast files !
— Eric le Curiste (@ericlecuriste) January 24, 2019
Obviously just a rumor at this point, but we can still be hopeful that this is true. 4th quarter would be Oct/Nov/Dec. Thanks, Eric.
Kaelan Mikla: Meet Icelandic Trio Turning Dark Folklore Into Cure-Approved Post-Punk
From Revolver:
When the Cure frontman curated 2018's Meltdown Festival in London, he personally invited Kælan Mikla to perform. "He was telling us it was nice, thank you for coming," says Matthildur of meeting Smith face-to-face for the first time after their performance. "We were thanking him, and he says, 'I have to run, but I will see you again.' Then he winked at us and walked away. It felt like a wink anyway." She laughs. "I liked it. It was nice and promising."
Doctor Who to Top of the Pops: Trawl through the BBC Archives reveal buried treasure
From iNews:
Six months ago O’Shea-Phillips was sent a trove of 6,000 unseen pictures taken during rehearsals for Top of the Pops. They show bands such as Siouxsie and the Banshees (including Robert Smith of The Cure guesting on guitar) forced to perform on make-shift stages to an empty studio floor, save for a few bored looking cameramen and technical crew.
Italian translation of 'Cured' coming soon
So the poll is finished! I can tell you that the next translation of Cured will actually be .. Italian! Although it seems that a Japanese version of Cured would be appreciated soon !

Congratulations to The Cure, and to all Cures, past & present! Lots of legit criticism and ridicule about the R & R HoF, but forget that, this isn't about the Hall, it's about celebrating the history and legacy of The Cure. Embrace it and celebrate it!
