We've all been wondering if there was the possibility of The Cure playing a few US shows in between their 2 shows at ACL, and now it looks like the rumors are starting:
"My source deals with events at the University of Texas - El Paso, and she says that The Cure have been booked at the Don Haskins Center later this year. She says it's a done deal, they are just setting up the date, said we should know by the end of the week. Could it be?!?!?!?" (Thanks Carlos)
Obviously just a rumor at this time, and in no way even remotely confirmed. But fingers crossed for this one, and Houston, and New Orleans, and anywhere else they want to play between those ACL shows.
Update (06/20/13): Been told that this El Paso rumor is false. No Texas shows between ACL dates. Then again, plans can, and often do, change. We'll see.

'In Orange' on YouTube again
As Slicing Up Eyeballs pointed out a couple of days ago, someone has once again uploaded the complete version of 'The Cure In Orange' to YouTube. Now if only Robert and Tim would just "upload" it to DVD & Blu-ray. :)

Help with this photo? Mystery solved!
Anyone know who took this photo of Robert and Mark Gardener? Eric wants to include it in the 'Beautiful Noise' documentary. If you know the photographer, please let us know. Thanks!
Update: From @ian_read - "it was in either NME or Melody Maker (think it was June 1991?) for The Pixies Garden Party, sorry, but not sure who took it." Anyone have that issue and can look it up?
Update: The info has been found in Japan! "The article was from an old Japanese music magazine called "Music Life". The article said that the photo was from the Pixies show on June 8th, 1991 at Crystal Palace in London. Ride performed as the opening act and RS visited them. And you can find the credit of the photographer at the bottom of the scan which says; pic:Martyn Goodacre/s.i.n./orion press " (Thanks Anonymous)

Roger visits the Ferrari Museum
From Museo Ferrari: "A rockstar, Roger O'Donnell, brought some new notes to the Ferrari
museum in Maranello. It was the member of the famous band The Cure, who
is also a Ferrari client. Thank you for your visit."
'Pictures of You' at American Songwriter
From American Songwriter: "Looking at old photographs is usually a happy occasion, reminding people
of great memories and good times. Context is everything, however, and
photos can sting if the person in the picture and the person viewing the
picture are no longer part of each other’s big picture. That’s the
set-up for The Cure’s “Pictures Of You,” an epic rendering of lost love
and limitless regret." Read more here. (Thanks Joe)

Robert self portrait on ebay
Janie from Cure News is selling a Robert self portrait on ebay: "I was given this picture when I ran the Cure's fan club back in the early 1990's. Unfortunately I no longer have room for it due to an imminent down-sizing of my office. The picture is very rare, only 1250 were produced and this is number 826, so they are rarely available. It was produced in the US by the band's merchandise agent at the time - Brockum. The print contains Robert's hand-written lyrics from "Letter to Elise" in fine hand-writing and also contains the words "self portrait Autumn 1990 Robert" in chunky marker pen - although I'm not sure if this is an original signature, or a print of his signature. The print measures 69cm x 49cm and is in a plain black frame with perspex / plastic glass. This is a genuine piece of Cure memorabilia and a fantastic addition to any serious collection! Shipping will be charged at actual cost (approximately £12 UK - rest of World approximately £25), once I know where to send the item and whether shipping insurance is required - you're welcome to collect from Yeading, West London, if preferred. Check out my other listings to see my ultra-rare collection of Cure 7" singles!" (Thanks Chris)

Cure collection for sale
"I am going to start selling my Cure collection. I was wondering if
you know of anyone who might be interested in two of my prized
possessions: 1. The Coca Cola Radio German promo 2 cd set from 1996. and
2. BBC In Concert Transcription promo cd from 1997. I have a large collection of cd's from the beginning to now, and vinyl

anyone's interested in those 2 or more, if they are looking for

cd's, and all the early vinyl." (Thanks Tommy)

Miniature Cure Schecter guitars
"Did you know? There are 2 miniature Schecter Cure guitars out there. The UltraCure and the one Porl used during the 4Tour. They are about 24 cm high and nicely made.
I found them on a French ebay shop called cultura-one for about 21 Euros each. It seems he hasn't got any in stock now, but maybe they can be found somewhere else on the web?" (Thanks Sylvain)
2 Porls & 1 Robert up on ebay right now. (Thanks Burton_)

Reminder: Ross Robinson is an asshole
From Cracked: "Yes, Robinson will totally throw fire at you
if he doesn't like what you're doing. Just ask the Cure, who Robinson
completely snapped at after several lackluster takes. He went full R.
Lee Ermey on their gothic asses, swearing at them, insulting their
legacy, throwing about a hundred lit candles around the studio, and laughing maniacally
at the keyboardist's tears and tantrums. As Robinson put it, "Sometimes
musicians need to feel certain things to emote, and a lot of times,
that thing will come out with a little coercing. So sometimes it comes
in the form of an object being thrown at their head while they're
tracking." (Thanks Pietro)
Harvest Festival tried to get The Cure
From The Music: "After the news broke this morning (about Neutral Milk Hotel playing there), Harvest's promoter AJ Maddah appears to have confirmed the report and admitted that the festival couldn't secure The Cure. "We did try for The Cure," he tweeted. "They're not adding any more dates this year."
(Thanks craneman)
Well we know this is sort of false. Maybe not booking any more shows for this year, but they'll be adding more dates. As Robert said/typed, "...AND STILL MORE TO COME!!!" :)
