Reminder: Cure on Carson Daly

Don't forget that The Cure will be playing Sleep When I'm Dead on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly tonight. The performance was recorded on Dec. 12th, 2008.

Note: For the last time, this was NOT a repeat! They aired The Only One on Dec. 18th. Tonight they aired Sleep When I'm Dead. Both were recorded on Dec. 12th, along with Boys Don't Cry, which has not aired yet. Still don't want to believe it? Here, download The Only One from the Dec. 18th airing.

Cure make another Best of 08 list

"I'm Abel Cruz, editor-in-chief of the Independent section of a web called Laportaclassica. I'm sending you a link on our Best of 2008 dossier where The Cure are in 12th position of 20 of the best records of last year. You may also find a youtube link on each album and other section (Live, DVDs and quotes).
Note that we chose The Cure as best live performace of 2008 and on the quotes section, there's also the tennis LSD quote of Robert to NME. :o " (Thanks Abel)

NME Awards tickets

"Fans may want to keep an eye on this site if they want tickets to the NME Awards show. They have been putting a few tickets on sale at random points over the past week. There were some available today but they are sold out again." (Thanks Steve)

The Cure on Carson Daly...again.

Last Call with Carson Daly is listing The Cure for Friday night, and the episode is new, not a repeat. If that listing is accurate, then there's a very good chance that they're airing one of the other songs they played at the Dec. 12th taping - Sleep When I'm Dead or Boys Don't Cry.

Note: I thought this would be pretty clear. The Cure are NOT in L.A. for a new taping. They played 3 songs at the Dec. 12th taping, and it would just be one of the unaired songs that are listed above.

Update: The official site confirms that it will be Sleep When I'm Dead. (Thanks Jason)

Review of the Underworld soundtrack

Fearnet reviewed the Underworld:ROTL soundtrack, and here's what they say about the UTS remix: "one of the strongest tracks on this album is Maynard’s beautifully bizarre remix of The Cure’s excellent “Underneath the Stars” (from the recent 4:13 Dream). Not only does he repaint the original with additional vocals and a more detailed sonic palette, but additional vocals are provided by none other than Resident Evil’s Milla Jovovich (who also contributed to the first film’s soundtrack). It’s a haunting track that builds well on Robert Smith’s dreamy imagery." (Thanks Kate)
