Kansas City! Tonight we're with @thecure at the Starlight Theatre. We're onstage at 7pm pic.twitter.com/FlmQTj3uQz— the twilight sad (@thetwilightsad) June 8, 2016
If you're going to the show and wouldn't mind sending in the live setlist or anything else, please let me know. Twitter, email, text, Facebook, whatever works best for you. Thanks!
If you're still looking for tickets, I will be posting any last minute offers on Twitter (I'm @CraigatCoF) and here.
Tickets still available is a bit of a misnomer- the website says there are exactly 2 tickets remaining
ReplyDeleteJust checked, and I could get the max # of 8 tickets, so more than 2 left.
DeleteThey're obviously adding where they can cause its offering "obstructed views" but when I first looked it literally stated, "only 2 left"
DeleteCan you email me your phone number just in case
ReplyDeleteWish I could be there. The Starlight is one of my favorite venues.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteJust played 2 late in the soundcheck and playing plainsong now
ReplyDeleteGreat concert so far! Wish I was there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a show!! Not there, obviously...but wow! Love 2 Late.
ReplyDeleteAnd one of the most heartbreaking renditions of Disintegration ever!!!! I feel like I've lived another life in those 8 minutes
ReplyDeleteVisibly upset after 1st encore, sure. But does that mean it was good or bad??
ReplyDeleteSlightly off topic but....
ReplyDeleteSpent today walking in the beautifully damp and rain soaked Peak District (UK) listening to a bootleg of the Fiddlers Green show. I've never had so many goosebumps
They should forget about auctioning off the prized Purple guitar and instead award it to anyone who is able to transcribe, in its entirety, the 20 second "RS has a lot to say" clip (Brits already speaking local dialect not qualifed..only non native speakers. Haha). Could only make out a few words amidst the gobbledygook.
ReplyDeleteIt's got nothing to do with accent, I'm English, from the south east too, and all I can hear is mumble, mumble, mumble so I can't even work out there's a possibility of incomprehensible dialect:
DeleteSounded something like " I have so many things to say but if I say them more than once it sounds like blf blf blf. See I just said it! Aww f**k!" Still doesn't make any sense. Just the usual drunken banter :)
DeleteWow, I think you're right! I think you nailed most of it. Great job! I also agree with poster above, it is a combo of the accent plus the mumbling that makes it so hard to work out his ramblings.
DeleteI think I was only able to decipher the "Awww....F--k" at the very end...Hard to miss that one.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
That was my favorite setlist of the tour...2 late, last day of summer, a strange day, cold, last dance, closedown....most importantly no wrong number or anything off the last two albums...wow. Such a fun and intense setlist.
ReplyDeleteCold is my favorite track from Pornograpghy. It's weird to see it in concert when the sun is still up lol
DeleteGreat setlist, I agree! But still wondering why so many songs of Faith, Pornography and Three imaginary boys and some live classics like "The Kiss" are still awaiting their tour debut.
DeleteWell there's a European tour starting in Autumn, so i sure as hell hope they'll keep some things up their sleeves to enthuse us fans from Europe! :)
DeleteAwesome setlist. 2 Late!!! Now there's a song I would love to hear live.
ReplyDeleteYa once again an incredible show! From my heart THANK YOU to The Cure and Twilight Sad. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a mainset!
ReplyDeleteI hope for Lament, the 13th, Drowning Man, It used to be me, the boy I never knew and Forever in Amsterdam the 13th November.
ReplyDeleteYou have a 5% chance of one of those.
DeleteBut a 95% chance of being a very adorable person for selecting those songs!
DeleteOh mannnnn, they played 2 Late?! One of my favorite songs of theirs and could die happily if I was ever lucky enough to see them play it.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, don't know how I am going to get anything done before the NYC shows next weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhen does Step into the Light come back?
Anyone else notIce that they tend to do a KMKMKM album track early in the tour then drop it?
ReplyDeleteIn '08 I remember seeing How Beautiful You Are in Philly. But not on any of the other shows.
Now, All I Want, seems to be the track.
Oh my goodness…this is the closest to the original version of 2 Late I’ve heard so far. All I can say is, wow, wow, WOW! I’m very impressed that RS made the effort to nail the original lyrics this time around, which can be a bit of a challenge to remember. Certainly nothing wrong with the “fly by the seat of your pants” version (or should I say "fly by the seat of your trousers"?...But heck "pants" could work too! HAHAHA), but had always wanted to hear it closer to the original form. I’ve always loved the part about the wooden men in file...very creative! I did enjoy the improvised lyrics sprinkled in here and there (will need to re-listen more carefully to figure out what was said), and I think the very beginning might have been slightly off but certainly it was incredible and as close to the original as you can possibly get. I still fondly remember my first exposure to 2 Late, when I “borrowed” my brother’s Lovesong cassette single back in ‘90 (neither of us were big fans), and wore out the tape flipping it back and forth on the stereo. I was intrigued but still a child and not quite mature enough to fully comprehend or appreciate the magnificence of what I was listening to. Can’t wait to check out the epic version of Disintegration that others have mentioned was a highlight...will be spacing out the viewing of these clips to maximize the experience.
ReplyDeleteOoops, I might have to walk back the above comment a bit after listening again. It's not quite the closest to original version, but still a good approximation!
Deletethis truly made me LOL - cause its definitely one of the B sides i had wait 100 Years to see in concert~ but i think the overall emotive and effusive night, made the lyrics a tricky one for RS.
DeleteGreat set, excited to see what they play in Chi-town. It's high time for another tour debut.
ReplyDeletei couldn't agree more! Chicago deserves a tour debut, especially as they were here just the other year for Riot Fest. Big love in this town for them.
DeleteCraig,
ReplyDeleteWatch the Just Like Heaven and 2late clip, watch closely at :45 , what is Simon gesturing?
Did anyone get a video of Disintegration at the show last night?
ReplyDeleteGotcha Robert! I knew you were reading these. Was your statement last night in Chi. in response to us not being able to understand you? Haha whatever you say darlin. Must be our ears :p
ReplyDeleteI am still searching for a FLOOR 1 ticket for Boston. Anyone? Just really don't want to go the Stubhub route.
