Christian - Got my Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me here in Canada today! Second Spin in Saint John, New Brunswick had 2 copies of Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss me (one of which I grabbed when they opened), while BackStreet Records had one copy when I went there a few minutes later (no idea if they had more or not). I didn't see The Glove at either shop I went to; it will probably arrive with a later shipment, as stores seem to never get everything they order for RSD in time for the actual RSD.

  1. Christian posted this in the other RSD topic, and wanted to repeat it here.

"Got my Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me here in Canada today! (I didn't see The Glove at either shop I went to; it will probably arrive with a later shipment, as stores seem to never get everything they order for RSD in time for the actual RSD).

Anyway, the vinyl sounded great. My ears aren't good enough to confirm if it's the remastered version or not, but what I heard sounded really clear and pristine (I bounced around from track to track). If someone wants to give me a real easy way to look for the difference, I'll give it another go later and report back.

I also noticed a fair amount of skips, even though I couldn't see any scratches anywhere; I simply ran my cleaning brush over those sections a few times and the skips went away. So, if anyone gets one today and thinks they've got a dud, just do your best to sweep away any invisible blockages and you should be fine :) "

    1. Thanks Craig. Just to provide more detail: Second Spin in Saint John, New Brunswick had 2 copies of Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss me (one of which I grabbed when they opened), while BackStreet Records had one copy when I went there a few minutes later (no idea if they had more or not).

Reading other accounts, I guess I should change "probably" to "hopefully" in regards to getting The Glove at a later date :)

  2. My Kiss Me on LP2 the labels are reversed. LP2 for some reason sounds slightly brighter than LP1 either way its great.

  3. NO luck on KMKMKM... tried two stores. I did score on Blue Sunshine though, and the blue marble looks cool.

  7. .Got both kmkmkm and the glove today...BUT wasn't this glove lp supposed to be a double with all the extra tracks included on the bonus cd? What happened. I was very disappointed with that, especially when I had heard online that it was going to be 2 lp's and not just the original. What happened? Why?????

    1. Can't believe internet rumors. It was just speculation & wishful thinking.
It's always been listed as a single LP on the official sites.

    3. http://www.rhino.com/article/annoucing-rhinos-largest-record-store-day-offering-yet

Lists THE GLOVE as a 2-LP set. That's not an "internet rumor", Craig. That's DIRECT FROM THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE ALBUM.

    4. Son of a...! Thanks for posting that, Dwayne. Never saw that article.

So the question now is, what made them change it to a single? And are there any double LPs that got made before the change?

    5. Emailed Rhino... This is what I got back:

"I have followed up with our Media Relations department and they confirmed that their original press release listed this a single LP.

I’m not sure how outlets picked up that it was a 2LP set. I apologize for the inconvenience.

We do not have current plans for the future release of a 2LP set, but I will forward your message to our suggestion box.

  13. What was the retail pricing for Kiss Me?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Aloha everyone.

Picked up an extra Kiss Me at RSD here in Honolulu, so if any Cure fan wasn't able to get their hands on one, I have one for sale. I paid $39.95, price sticker still on it, and will sell it at cost. Keep in mind, you will have to pay for shipping. Because I live in Hawaii, shipping for Media Mail is $4, but it can take from 4-6 weeks to get to you. If you would like it quicker, $12 for USPS Priority. Email me if anyone would like it. alohadarrelltyler@hawaiiantel.net

  15. My local record shop got in the rest of their order from Saturday, today; there were two copies of The Glove for me to choose from (44 and 45; I picked 44 because it was a lower number, although 45 is more record-like and would have been cool...what, why are you looking at me that way?)

  16. Hot update: A friend just got his copy of KMKMKM (#320) from Hot Stuff Record Shop (http://www.hotstuff.se/) in Älmhult, Sweden. The lovely 2LP shall soon travel to the Czech Republic where it is going to make one lucky Curehead - Cur(e)rently residing in Prague - happy. End of message.

  17. For anyone in the Bay Area (CA) looking for Blue Sunshine, 1-2-3-4-Go records in Oakland (40th at Broadway) has several copies of the LP, priced at $22.99 (IIRC). I didn't see any copies of KM3.
They also have the Beady Eye 7" box set from RSD 2011.

  18. I have an extra copy of the US pressing of KMKMKM RSD that is unopened. I would like to trade it for an unopened copy of the UK/EU pressing of KMKMKM RSD...the difference is the US is pressed in XXXX/3500 and the EU/UK is XXXX/4000. Straight trade is preferred.

email me at mikec@axisrecapital(dot).com if you are interested!

  19. Also...if anyone is still looking for copies of either KMKMKM or The Glove, I would recommend buying from Discogs. Plenty around and usually the best cost since you are buying from actual stores (stay away from Ebay....those prices are lame). Remember, if you are vinyl collector, there are technically two versions of each record to collect!

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me

    US Pressing:
    http://www.discogs.com/Cure-Kiss-Me-Kiss-Me-Kiss-Me/release/4482274

    UK/EU Pressing:
    http://www.discogs.com/Cure-Kiss-Me-Kiss-Me-Kiss-Me/release/4497285

    The Glove:

    US Pressing:
    http://www.discogs.com/Glove-Blue-Sunshine/release/4491458

    UK/EU Pressings:
    http://www.discogs.com/Glove-Blue-Sunshine/release/4492403

I think it's wierd that the US Pressing of KMKMKM is selling for a much higher price that the UK version and that there are far more for sale of the UK version (they only pressed 500 more in the UK than in the US). I guess the US really likes The Cure and they sold out faster!

  20. Man, I tell you, I thought my original 1987 UK version of KM on vinyl sounded great, but this US Record Store Day pressing is absolutely AMAZING!
