"...AND MORE TO COME!!!"

Don't forget that there are still more show announcements coming soon. Stay alert. More Cure shows are on the way!

2 US festivals will be announcing their lineups over the next few days, Seattle's Bumbershoot on May 2nd, and Austin City Limits on May 6th/7th. While no solid rumors have connected The Cure to either of these festivals, it's something to keep an eye on.

Update (05/02/13): No Cure for Bumbershoot. Sorry, Seattle/Pacific Northwest. Over to you, Austin City Limits. Don't you let us down, too.

  1. Still holding out hope for one UK show this year. Not holding my breath though as Europe got spoilt last year.

    1. I'd have to disagree. Only 2 shows in UK is not really "Spoilt" Plus they were only festivals.

    2. But he said Europe, not UK. Europe got all of the shows last year, so, yeah, time to spread it around a bit. Going to need more than 1 US show this year. :)

KROQ Weenie Roast just announced their lineup, and no Cure. Outside Lands made their announcement a couple of weeks ago, and no Cure.

Next big US festival announcement is May 7th for Austin City Limits in Oct. Muse already confirmed as one of the headliners there, but still a possibility.

I'm still holding out hope for Voodoo festival in early November, though NIN and Pearl Jam have already been announced as 2 of the 3 headliners.

Have all of the European summer festivals made their lineup announcements? If not, who's left? And what about the "unusual" spots that they've never/rarely played? Anything in Hawaii? Iceland? Israel? Arctic circle?

    3. Bumbershoot (Seattle) makes their announcement on Thursday. Doesn't seem likely but I can always hope.

    4. Even though The Cure played two shows in the UK last year I didn't go. I flew to the Rome show instead, but remember in late 2011 they played Bestival and a Reflections show. 4 UK shows in under 12 months.

    5. Thank you, Christine, I forgot about Bumbershoot. They've never played that one, so it's a possibility. Fingers crossed for you and my friends in Portland & Seattle.

  2. There's the possibility they could just tour without playing US Festivals.

    1. Just going by what's been announced so far. 4 shows, 4 festivals. Really not holding my breath on a US tour. But maybe a few standalone shows?

  3. Not all European festival made their announcements. Glasto ? Sziget ? Modcou again ?

    1. Glasto has made theirs and no Cure. Much to Roberts dismay. I'm sure he'd love to give Glastonbury another shot.

  5. Last night I dreamed that they came to Russia again, I woke up happy and then realised that it obviously won't happen and started crying C:

  6. For Texas the possible shows are ACL and Fun Fun Fun Fest. Fingers crossed that they will land on one of those lineups!

  7. I am holding out hope, that there will be an East Coast festival or standalone gig. The Governor's Is fest here in NYC has a *lame* lineup this year...and the Made in America fest in Philly is only 2 days, with NIN and Beyonce as the 2 headliners. So there is a huge gaping hole (IMO) for summer appearances, in Metro NY/NJ and the NE in general.

  8. My wish is for an L.A. or Vegas layover show(s) between the Japan festival and Chicago festival. I think they can pull off two Cure only shows!! WISHES, WISHES, DREAMS, DREAMS, MORE, MORE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! ;0)

  10. using statistics i thought The Cure would headline Spendour in the Grass. wasnt too far off as they will be playing the Australasian Region around that time.

    so saying all that . . .

The Cure to Headline 2014 Big Day Out. as BDO now has connections to 'C3 presents', who as we all know - book the bands for . . . lollapalooza

    1. As much as i'd kill for another Australian tour (and I had thought the same for Splendour) I hope it's not based around a festival! My plan is to go to all Australian shows next time round and I really don't want to have to put up with people at a festival!

  11. I have a dream (just like many other Cure fans...): i'd really like to see Cure play at Arena in Verona (Italy)...The Cure had to play in 1986, but the date was canceled for security reasons by the Fire Chief :-(
But if Arena is not possible, I'd be happy to see them play at "A Perfect Day Festival" in Villafranca (a small town near Verona) in the splendid setting of the Castello Scaligero. This was the program of 2012 edition with some images of the location: http://www.udine20.it/villafranca-di-verona-a-perfect-day-festival-2012/
The 2013 edition will be held from August 30 to September 1, and so far have been confirmed headliners on Friday 30 (Primal Scream) and on Sunday September 1 (The XX and Editors). Missing the line-up Saturday, August 31 ... dreaming does not cost anything and it would be really: A PERFECT DAY!
