What a great end to a fantastic tour! Thank you, Robert, Simon, Jason, Roger, and Reeves! Thank you, The Cure! Haven't enjoyed a tour this much since the Dream Tour.
And THANK YOU to everyone of you who helped with the SummerCure
coverage. It wouldn't have been possible without the help you guys
provided. I've said it before, and I'll say it until I die, Cure fans are some of the nicest, most helpful & supportive people you will ever know. So thank you again for making this tour so much fun and helping me out with whatever I needed. Let's do it all again, very soon. :)
thank you craig for the scoop!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for organizing it all :)
ReplyDeleteSo now what? Another Trilogy show? Record the next record? North American tour? Always a mystery when a Cure tour ends, lol...
ReplyDeleteA brilliant Summer!
ReplyDeleteFrom your lips to God's ears.... VERY soon! Thank you for making me feel as though I made it to the shows. Couldn't wait to get up each day and read the posts/watch the videos.... It's been a great Cure summer!
ReplyDeleteI can still feel that big things are to come yet...Wish reissue, Mixed Up 2, South American tour or (Asian tour please!!!) and maybe a Reflections 2 (includes THOD, KMKMKM, Wish...) before they kiss us all goodbye...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Craig, for the great coverage!
ReplyDelete(and everyone's help!)
We now need some US dates with Reeves - as it would be so cool to see this incarnation of The Cure, while they're on a roll!!!
Please??
:)
thanks a lot to you Craig! great work!
ReplyDeletethanks Craig for YOUR work :)
ReplyDeleteand you are absolut right. this show reminded me really on the drem tour. and i am speaking of the frequency festival, this performance had nothing to do with the festival gigs like 1998 or 2004. they had fun, i had fun.
hope i will see them soon again ;)
jörg
Thank you Craig for what you did during this SummerCure Tour ... and thank you to all those who participated !!! Great fans for a fantastic band!!!
ReplyDeleteAll best,
M&F
Firstly, a huge thanks to the band for an absolutely stunning tour. You were all on top form and I've had such a great summer following all the performances online, and getting the chance to see you at Reading was a dream come true. You sound better than ever - PLEASE don't let this be the end!!!
ReplyDeleteSecondly - a HUGE thank you to Craig for all of your efforts with this blog. You've made people who couldn't see the tour really feel part of the experience. Chain of Flowers has been a big part of many people's lives this summer!
Thirdly, Cure fans really ARE the nicest people you will ever meet! I never realised this until I met a load of them at Reading last week! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to do the live reports!
Good-bye Reeves! :-)
ReplyDeleteAll of us in the United States await you, our arms and hearts wide open. Take a little time off, but not too much :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Craig and everyone else for their help! I don't think I would even know that the Cure still existed without you!
ReplyDeleteyes andreas@ good-bye reeves and dont come back!!!
ReplyDeletethank you Craig for updating all us Cure fans. Hope this line-up won't finish here...
ReplyDelete"yes andreas@ good-bye reeves and dont come back!!!"
ReplyDeleteWTF you on about? Reeves has added a new dimension to the live set. Compared to the Bestival show and the previous 4Tour the current line up is sounding amazing.
Don't feed the troll. Eric always says the same thing. Reeves has been spectacular!!
DeletePay no mind to the peanut gallery. Eric is just a lost little soul.
Deletethanks craig... you did a fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteporl thompson est spectaculaire ! reeves est juste un remplacant pour l été seulement!!
ReplyDeleteDo i smell a craig-hint on the "lets do it all again, very soon. :)" thing?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, no, that's not a hint. Just wishful thinking. As far as I know, the next Cure shows would be the South American tour next Spring that Robert mentioned.
DeleteThough if Robert would like to offer a surprise between now and then, I doubt any of us would mind. :)
If not, then here's hoping he finishes 1 of the 3 ongoing albums that he says they are working on.
I think it's highly doubtful there will be any more 2012 shows, putting together another 'Reflections' show with even just 'The Top', & HOTD + bsides seems like a big task with really only a few months left in the year - but you never know.
DeleteBesides it was 9 years between the Trilogy & Reflections shows, I think they will want at least a few years to let another full album show simmer. But then again, time is running thin...
My bet is they hit the studio for the rest of '12 and try to finish up an album for 2013. They are passing the 4 year mark since 4:13 Dream, which is now the longest RS has gone without a studio record.
Release a new record in late Spring, tour SA, and then tour NA in the Summer of '13.
I just can't see anymore activity this year from a live standpoint. Hopefully I'm wrong!
And again, I think touring North American in Summer 2013 is the best idea. 5 years since the last full tour, so the demand should be there. RS won't do anymore big tours, but I think a 15 - 20 date NA Tour in the major markets will work.
DeleteThanks Craig for your dedication to the band and keeping us all updated. I was lucky enough to attend 1 show this summer...last night at Electric Picnic...and what a show it was. The band sound immense at the moment...Just the right blend of guitars and keyboards. I hope Reeves sticks around for a while because he's brought a amazing side to The Cure....subtle in the right moments and lets it rip when it warrants it.
ReplyDeleteWell that was the Last day of Summer(Cure)...and i say Summer went by way too fast:( I remember the excitement of PinkPop like it was 2 days ago...Big Thanks to the band of course for treating us to these wonderful shows, and a huge thanks to you Craig for all the work you do, and the hours you put in:)
ReplyDeleteYou make a lot of people happy.
Thanks Craig and all the people doing the live reports for making every show of this beautiful summer accessible for all Cure fans around the world and being THE central hub for all of us online :)
ReplyDeleteAnd above all, thanks to Robert, Simon, Roger, Jason and Reeves for these amazing shows! You're the best, da gibt's nix :)
It's true, just as perfect.murder already said, it feels like yesterday I was standing at Pinkpop, wondering about the stage set-up that looked suspiciously like a second guitarist might come up...and now autumn is coming and this truly amazing Summercure is over already...really enjoyed listening to the show last night on rté2fm, what a great ending.
I had a smile on my face every night they played this summer - thanks for that :)
it was especially wonderful to have many webcasts for those of us unable to attend. great sets. looking forward to new shows and of course new music. kick ass everyone!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your efforts, Craig. I've never experienced such a thing as the CoF blog. The mutual love and respect is off the charts. It's like our very own Cure hangout. I'm sad to see SummerCure come to an end but look forward to more Cure news and adoration in the future. Hats off to Robert and the gang! Hats off to everyone here at CoF!
ReplyDeleteThank you Craig. (You HAVE to be a demigod, (still) doing what you do and I truely love you for that...) as well as everybody else joining COF and made me spent many curish hours of entertaining Comment-reading.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunatly Belfort to me went into a giant misfortune, I still can't get my head around what actually happened there) And so I didn't got the new line-up, for there was no chance to go to any other show for me. At least I was quite happy for all that webcast joinings, it made me jealous as well though.
Don't expect so much activity of The Cure anymore (beside next-year-(south)-america-touring, the Wish Remaster and Mixed Up 2), but I so much hope for another possibility to see them in Europe one more time, I'd kill myself if THAT would have been the last chance...OMG
I'll miss the time, guys. All of you is wonderful, guys but Craig is most and will always be.
Thank you Craig for your effort to keep this blog alive.
ReplyDeleteThank to The Cure for their music that is so important in my life
And thank to all the curefans around the world!!!
IT WAS SO FUCKING GREAT...
ditto ... Thank you, Craig for working so hard to keep an open window on SummerCure 2012 for all of us. On a personal note, I'd like to say that this has been a truly inspiring journey, during which I made my peace with bits of Cure music that I never really liked but that I have now learned to live with (and since Cure music normally is a reflection of personal life ...). Though I learned not to believe a single statement Robert gives during interviews, I am convinced that exciting things lie ahead (just not those he mentioned!). ONWARDS!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
ReplyDelete2013 The Cure have in Brazil. I hope I can help.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Kisses
