Heartbroken to hear about the passing of Perry Bamonte.
We had the honour of supporting The Cure on the Wish tour in 1992, and Perry was always smiling, always laughing.
In between the trailers we’d be playing football, and backstage there were full-on water gun battles… until we were finally told to stop.
He was funny, always happy, and always made everything fun just by being there.
Rest easy, Teddy. 🖤
Sending love to his family and everyone who loved him.
Nearly 30 years of running CoF and never had a single person tell me anything bad about Perry. Only how kind, how generous, how helpful he was with everyone. When I tell you he was so loved, it's no exaggeration.
So happy that he got that last run with The Cure. Rock on forever, Teddy!
We will love and miss you forever!
All love, strength, and support to Donna, Daryl and all family and friends of Perry!
Alison Moyet:
I met Perry Bamonte in primary school and we became good friends. He bought me castanets from Spain. He and I sat together in the school corridor painting. We hung out as young punks together in the same gang. Gentle, kind and tender man. I will never forget you. RIP dear soul.
Steven Severin:
A lovely man passes. RIP Perry. Love to Daryl.

IT IS WITH ENORMOUS SADNESS
THAT WE CONFIRM THE DEATH OF OUR GREAT FRIEND AND BANDMATE PERRY BAMONTE
WHO PASSED AWAY AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS AT HOME OVER CHRISTMAS.
QUIET, INTENSE, INTUITIVE, CONSTANT AND HUGELY CREATIVE, ‘TEDDY’ WAS A WARM HEARTED AND VITAL PART OF THE CURE STORY.
‘LOOKING AFTER THE BAND’ FROM 1984 THROUGH 1989, HE BECAME A FULL TIME MEMBER OF THE CURE IN 1990,
PLAYING GUITAR, SIX STRING BASS AND KEYBOARD ON THE WISH, WILD MOOD SWINGS, BLOODFLOWERS, ACOUSTIC HITS AND THE CURE ALBUMS,
AS WELL AS PERFORMING MORE THAN 400 SHOWS OVER 14 YEARS.
HE REJOINED THE CURE IN 2022, PLAYING ANOTHER 90 SHOWS, SOME OF THE BEST IN THE BAND’S HISTORY,

OUR THOUGHTS AND CONDOLENCES ARE WITH ALL HIS FAMILY.
HE WILL BE VERY GREATLY MISSED.
