  4. This is FANTASTIC. To hear the songs done with all the original instruments/sounds is so satisfying. That bit of 'Last Dance' is SO good. Thank You!

    2. Crucial, Reeves would agree. I'd rather see him with a Squier 6 than the plastic he plays now.

    3. Right, you have to wonder, can't RS hear the huge, huge difference? Puzzling to say the least.

    5. The recent heavy metal gear is criminal.

  6. Record it before it's taken down.
    This is an incredible document.
Surely there is more to see.
I wish they release the 1989 concert recorded on video.

    4. The Count behind the drum kit...

    5. Yes! the Count Boris Bransby Williams!
With him there were no loops, pre recorded things, bad drum sound, and constant hi-hat and cymbal bashing... BORIS!

  10. A Huge Merci to whoever decided to release this!!
This is the closest we will ever get for those of us who were too young to witness what I believe to be the most emotional tour of The Cure.
Part of this footage had been shown for a few seconds in a rapido interview back in 1990, and I always dreamed that we would one day get the full plainsong... now we have even more ! This is such a beautiful thing to see for me...
I have been listening to the recording of Paris POPB 09/07/89 for a thousand times since the summer of 1990, back when I was 14 years old... I guess I was just a couple of years too young... I listened to that concert so many times, I know every shouts from the audience, every little audio drop outs and tape creases... to this day, my favourite live recording of The Cure full stop.
To see this brings tears in my eyes and a sense of finally bringing something to a close...
That forever missed opportunity is a not as bitter now, its almost like the 40 years old man I am today can finally feel complete... I know it sounds corny, but, this is how I feel this morning...
Thank you to whoever made this possible !
To everyone who has never listened to the 2nd night of Paris 89, go and do so right away, you will not regret it...

    3. EXACT the same feelings with this, was 15 at that time and it was already the second tour i saw.Started with the Kiss Me,that was my second concert ever in 1987.The prayer tour 89 was like a holy mass,so dark the lights,so deep the guys played. later i got the Frankfurt Festhalle recording, exact the one i visited, but an incredible version of "Faith" is missing in that one,Robert was shouting something about a fucking boy,and why he has done something, guess Lol was the one he meant?? has anyone the recording of that gig,was in May 1989.
while singing faith,Robert picked a flower to pieces, murmurin"she loves me,she loves me not" and threw away the blossom pieces theatralically away......never forget this thing...that night...those fellings...there...lost in a crowd.....so again,if anyone has the recording, let me know

      thanks

  13. Found this in the internet, incredible what there is.....
    Faith live lyrics 14th may 1989 Frankfurt/germany

I'm kind of obsessed if she loves me
    She loves me not
    She loves me
    She loves me not
    She loves me
    She loves me not
    She loves me
    She loves me... not

    Everyday that I stand and...
    Can talk to her
You can talk to her he said

There's a big fucking boy in the mirror that says you can talk to her
There's a big fucking boy in the mirror that says you talk to her
If you just pick up the phone and dial
    Everything's the same
    Everything's the same

    Is it FUCK (Yelling!!)
Is it, is it really how you said it is?
Say you do it just like you said you would?
You make me look so silly
    They said you would

    So you say to me
    Why do you do it?
Why do you do it like that?
    So you say to me...
Why... do you do it like that?
    Ssssss

And I'll listen like a boy, that should have been left at home
If you could only just once...
As selfish as I want to be
As selfish as I want to be

    Do anything
    I'll do anything
    Don't say anything
    Something
    Do something
    I'll do anything

    (Guitar Fill)

    There's nothing left but faith

    (Ending Lyrics)

  17. This line-up with vintage gear was so powerful. It is great to see Smith playing three hour shows and b-sides, but they sound like a cover band now compared to the 1985-1992 line-up.
