  1. I'm starting to fear toronto is a festival. Guess I have to decide on if I go to nyc for night 3 or miss the tour.

  2. I'll be shocked if the Toronto show isn't at Bestival.

    1. I'll be shocked if it is, because the band will be in Chicago during its projected dates. I will also be very, very ticked if the band does a festival as their possible final Toronto show.

    2. That would make three out of their last four Toronto shows festival dates. Toronto doesn't deserve to be shortchanged. I know a bunch of people who are looking forward to seeing them.

    3. ...and since I forgot to say this in the last two comments, the band hasn't played a proper album tour show there since the Dream Tour in 2000!

    4. Shawn, the Bestival dates might be different this year. Friday and Saturday last year, but might be Sat. & Sunday this year. Or even expand to 3 days. I doubted the rumor before, but not so sure now.

Something is holding up the Toronto announcement. Having trouble finalizing the details with the venue? Or having to wait until Bestival makes the announcement?

Either way, I hope we know something soon.

    5. Let's hope not, I worry about the cure at a festival that has a "need costume idea" section in their website.

    6. I can tell you it just happened to Seattle again. Good luck to Toronto, seriously, I hope you get what you want.

  3. As I said before, that's it then. It will be a matter of days now until we hear that the same fucking thing that happened in 2008 happens again to Seattle. I'm done with 'em.

  4. We were just plain lied to. The original announcement said there would be a Seattle date with date and on-sale info announced 'soon'. Two months, fine, whatever. The Gorge is not Seattle. It's hundreds of miles away in a dustbowl with no amenities and shit parking. Plus a festival date with a half-hour hacked off the set-list. Not me, thank you very much. Oh well.

  5. Is Altamont still a functioning site? I might suggest the band look into it.

  6. Shawn, only 2 of the last 4 TO shows were festivals and I'd barely call the Curiosa tour a festival show. It was in support of an album and curated by Robert.

    1. It was barely over two hours long, even with the encores. That's a festival show. Curiosa was a festival show, 4Tour wasn't, but wasn't a proper album tour, Riot Fest was a festival show, and this may be a festival show. That's 3 out of 4.

  7. Lol-dont take this the wrong way but anyone that has any type of show (festival or otherwise) in their state or within a couple hours drive shouldn't IMO complain. Everyones entitled to their opinion and all but try being most of the Midwest being passed up. I've mentioned here before that this is 2 straight tours that detroits been passed up on and they filmed SHOW here for Christs sake. For Detroit lovers of the cure we have to drive 5 hours to either A) Chicago or B) Toronto and both cases pay crazy hotel costs on top of tickets and gas money. Hell Columbus is about 3 hours but I'd more than drive there and back in a day if they had a show as opposed to the closest currently being Chicago and Toronto. I still hold hope that a Detroit show is announced...
And of course there's quite a lot of other places in the country being passed up, not just whining for Detroit, but man I wish I was getting any sort of cure show. I drove to philly in 92' when Detroit wasn't announced on the first leg, they of course endedup doing 2 nights and filmed show on that tour but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything of seeing them at the spectrum. Married, kids and job prevent a long road trip these days :(

Ok I'll get off my soapbox now lol

Keep up the great work Craig!

    1. You are of course right about the Midwest. For my wife and me, the surrounding dates don't work for work reasons. The Gorge date does not work for $$$$ reasons. A Seattle show might approach a hundred dollars but this fucking festival shit (less for more) means around eight hundred for the two of us and I didn't recognize a SINGLE other band or individual on the list. The Gorge is NOT Seattle.
