  1. PLEASE let this be the next Trilogy series and not a "greatest radio hits" show like North America always seems to get!!

    1. 25 dates with a support? Can't see it being a trilogy show, would make it sstupidly long but might be wrong. I was hoping more of a tour in support of a new album (Ha!)

      Delete
    2. Yeah, seriously doubt this will be a "trilogy" type of show. Not for that many shows. It would kill them. :)

    3. "New Album News?

      Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

      No. Not yet."

Is that last part a recent addition? A hint?

      Delete
    4. Added this morning. I don't know.

    5. "Yes, that's right, it will be another trilogy tour", Robert Smith could be hears saying. "We will play Wild Mood Swings, The Cure, and 4:13 Dream. We really wanted to give our newer FAN something HE could look forward to."

    6. Just once, I'd like to hear "Forever" live. Hnngghhhh

  2. On my birthday at hollywood bowl! Yey!

  3. Assume Roger mentioning one more time in his tweet wasn't accidental and related to Kiss Me x3

    1. I took it to mean one more tour. Either for him or the entire band.

      Delete
    2. Actually, you're dead right. No way they'd do a full 25-30 date trilogy tour

  4. Craig! Good for you!! Hope you make it not to one but to several shows.

    1. Oh I plan to! Already planning to head to Chicago, and hoping for shows closer to me, too.

    2. So pleased to hear that, Craig

    3. Yes! We in Prague, the Czech Republic got lucky as well. 2016? Pretty Good Year! :)

  5. Hi Craig! Thank you for the wonderful news! 2016 is already looking fantastic, and it's not even here yet! The presale "here" button for the Hollywood Bowl show doesn't appear to be linked. Happy Tuesday!!

    1. There's no active link yet. The one posted on the official site has been removed. Will post as soon as it's up.

  6. Wild and unsubstantiated speculation ahead...but interesting that the band logo is from the 4:13 Dream Era and the canvass, abstract artwork also looks like it is from that era, no references to The Top, Kiss Me or Head on the Door album art...does this mean it could be 4:14 Scream Tour?

    1. I hope so..maybe the promo image is the cover of this sort of "new" old record.

      Delete
    2. I wouldn't read anything at all into that. Just a stop-gap image until they reveal the real one in January.

      Delete
    3. yeah, i think so. i just hope they let us heard all the songs they made in 2008..it would be nice.

      Delete
    4. I want a new record, not a "sort of new" old record

  7. Fantastic news. Yay! Craig, I'm confused about the presale code for NYC. On your prior post (Robert's ALL CAPS) the code is listed as "DISINTEGRATION" and then here on this post it's "thecure2016". Cut and paste error?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Craig, you should correct the presale code for the MSG show. It's "DISINTEGRATION".

  10. Won't be able to talk the wife into NYC I'm afraid...hopefully they come to/near New Orleans.

    1. I hope they come to Louisiana too. I may have to take a road trip if not because I'm not missing them again.

  11. Fingers crossed we also get a Radio City show like in 2008.

    1. With only 25 shows for all of North America, that's doubtful.

      Delete
    2. They didden't play 'more' in 2008 in us, so not so doubtful . .

      Delete
    3. They played the night after the '08 MSG show at Radio City Music Hall, both NYC, and the played a sick slew of b-sides, etc

      Delete
  12. They will be touring their new Album...lol...

    ReplyDelete
  13. I hate them announcing only three dates with the remaining TBA...Chicago is around 6-7 hours away from southwestern IN...don't know if I should wait and hope they come closer (St. Louis, Nashville, etc) or go ahead and buy Chicago...ARG!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Buy a Chicago ticket and sell it if they decide to perform closer to where you live.

      Delete
  14. hopefully this tour will be promoting a new album...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yeah, if only I knew whether the Cure will be in Minneapolis/St Paul in 2016. That's where I am. Oh well. I won't count on it and just get Chicago tix, I think. It's only about a 400-mile or 6 1/2 hour drive ;) Yikes!

    ReplyDelete

    1. As I suggested to someone else, buy a Chicago ticket and then sell it if they decide to perform closer to where you live.

    2. But just to be clear, this is fantastic news and I would GLADLY drive to chicago to see the greatest alternative band the world has ever seen! My favorite band for life :) Would love to see a new Trilogy show, but given that I love virtually ALL their music, I would be okay with a show based around their hits... Although, I am more the Prayers for Rain, Same Deep Water as You, Short Term Effect, Cold, Faith, and other darker songs guy ;) But there is basically no song I dislike by this legendary band.

      Delete
    3. Great idea. Or opt to see two shows! One in Chicago and one where I am. :)

      Delete
  16. If they're having a support band, The Twilight Sad are a fantastic choice. They're phenomenal live!

  18. Hoping Detroit doesn't get skipped this time. Was hard to believe that the city where SHOW was recorded got skipped last time :/
But the economy here was real bad then so fingers crossed :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, I second this. I'll be getting Chicago tickets anyway, and if Detroit is announced in Jan, I'll make the decision to sell (to someone here of course) or perhaps go to both. Had to travel to Cleveland last time and while it was a memorable experience, I'd really like a home state show this time out.

      Delete
    2. Being in the Detroit area also, agreed. That Chicago traffic! BUT will do it.

  19. Hope for a second night in NYC at Radio City Music Hall, as 2008 was amazing ! !

    3. Yes, correct. At 10 am. Why are you confused?

      Delete
    4. It doesn't take me a lot to be confused !!!

    5. Hahaha...well not this time. You had it all figured out. :)

    6. How do we do the presale? Please help I don't want to miss them again. Thank you

      Delete
    7. Just go to the Ticketmaster link at the time of the presale, enter the presale code, get your tickets.

Just know that presale tickets are very limited, and will likely sell out quickly. That's fine, the rest of tickets, the vast majority of them, will then go on sale Friday morning.

      Delete
    8. I guess I will buy a ticket for the Chicago show. Do I just go to ticketmaster tomorrow at 10:00 and type in code ? I'm sorry I have so many quesitons

      Delete
    9. No, the Chicago presale is on Oct. 8th, Thursday. I will have all of the info posted on the page that morning. All you will need to do is to be signed into your account (if you don't have one, make it BEFORE Thursday!), follow the presale link, enter the presale code, and hope you were quick enough.

  20. 2 years ago they played my home town on my Birthday (Bottlerock Napa) This time it is a week before my birthday in LA.

It is like Robert keeps giving me birthday presents!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I could be wrong, but I think I just heard JACK FM say they were giving away tickets all week at 5am, 7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.

  22. Hoping for a toronto or buffalo show. If not I've got cleveland, Pittsburgh within a 3 hr distance. I won't miss them this tour, 8 years between shows was way too long.

    ReplyDelete

    1. As much as I'd enjoy it, Buffalo won't happen, as they've performed there just once, in 1984. However, Toronto is a virtual certainty, as they've never skipped it on a major tour.

      Delete
    2. They really need to come to Buffalo!!!

      Delete
    3. When will The Toronto date be announced?Impatiently waiting!!!!!!

      Delete
  23. I wish I knew where the other dates will be. I hope they come to New Orleans but doubt it since they were just here in 2013. I couldn't mKe that show because my mom was very sick and in hospital. She just passed away and I've been in a funk. I hope I am able to see them I am in need of The Cure

    ReplyDelete
  24. craig, you sneaky ninja! :D
see everyone in LA, NYC, phoenix & seattle (if they play)! good luck with the presale! x

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why do we think they've only announced those 3 first? I'm going to the 2nd weekend of Coachella in April (coming from Australia) - thoughts on them on the line up?

In any case - i'm going to go to as many shows as possible and plan on getting tickets for LA first. Hope to see people there! :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I hope for a date outside US & Canada, maybe Mty or Mex?

Anyway this is great news, just a new record is the missing part to complete the puzzle.

  27. If your from the la area you might be able to answer this question why is this a jack fm concert and not a kroq concert? Kinda scary might be hits tour cross my fingers I hope not

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. its not really to do with a greatest hits tour. KROQ has changed formats and playlists so much, they no longer support the cure like the once did.

  28. Let's hope they put out a new album. A real new album of new material. The 4:14 Scream stuff would be great. One would think after 8 years, and a new lineup, they could come up with brand new material.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Let's hope for finally a real world tour (not just appearances at some festivals, could be the last one. If they will play like at the Apollo last year I would be very happy...

    ReplyDelete
  30. I want to second that I think the artwork maybe does tie into 4:14 Scream... maybe a double push with WISH remastered would be great.

Anyways, I was fortunate enough to see The Cure on their previous trip to The Hollywood Bowl and their performance of Underneath the Stars was simply magic. Does anybody have any ideas or speculation why it doesn't show up more often in recent setlists?

    1. Maybe Robert noticed how boring this song is?
The more important question: Will they ever play tracks from Bloodflowers again???

  31. So, which code do I use for Chicago? thecure2016 or xrtcure?

  34. Why all the griping about this tour? The Cure have announced an American tour for 2016. I am in bliss. And I do not care what they play…. I just want them to play!

    ReplyDelete
  35. The Cure owe us a show in Kansas City at Starlight - Robert had no voice last time in 2008 and said he'd make it up to us. Show probably should have been cancelled.

Most of the dates have two nights now, right?!
Might be an ideal opportunity to film.. Mr Pope?

  40. Craig , if I'm not suppose to put this here please let me know and I'll delete it . I am thinking about traveling around to see all of The Cure shows in USA. but, reluctant to go alone. i was wondering if anyone else might be thinking about or traveling around to see this legendary band in concert . If anyone wants to contact me, my email mindycaruso@yahoo.com. Thanks
